Create an Herb Infused Butter for Your Thanksgiving Turkey

Posted on November 16, 2018 at 12:47 PM by Wendy Jorgensen

Thanksgiving is near, which means you’re probably brainstorming up a delectable Thanksgiving menu for you and your family. Turkey should always be the star of the show, and we have a quick and simple recipe to help with that – an herb and garlic infused butter.
Herb Infused Butter Recipe Step 1

What you will need:
  • ¾ cup chicken stock
  • ½ cup & 3 Tablespoons of butter
  • 6 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 3 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 3 garlic cloves, smashed
The night before the big day of cooking, go ahead and make the herb infused butter to be injected into the turkey the next day.

Place a small sauce pan on the stove and combine your chicken stock, butter, thyme sprigs, rosemary sprigs and smashed garlic cloves. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted and flavors are infused. This should take 5 to 10 minutes.

Herb Infused Butter Recipe Step 2After letting the butter mixture simmer, remove it from heat and set aside to stand at room temperature for 2 hours. From there, cover it and place it the refrigerator to chill overnight or for 8 hours.

Once Thanksgiving Day arrives, put the butter back on the stove to reheat over low heat, then strain the butter into a small bowl to remove the garlic and herbs.

The herb infused butter can be injected into your bird just before popping it into the oven, resulting in a flavorful and juicy turkey the whole family will be talking about for weeks!
